The protected complex of Kokořín Castle comprises the Old and New Palaces, the main tower, the staircase tower, a staircase terrace with a rock chamber on the northern side of the castle courtyard, the ring wall, a well located outside the actual castle, a stable carved into the rock, a bridge, and the outer bailey.
Culture
The second tour of Kokořín Castle is self-guided and includes climbing the 37.5-metre-high defensive tower, with views of the surrounding countryside, as well as a visit to a historical exhibition in the cellar.
Kokořín Chateau stands in the centre of the municipality of Kokořín and is a Baroque chateau from the mid-18th century with utility buildings. It is a single-storey building with a red façade, corner towers, and an onion dome, commissioned by the Sweerts-Špork family as a country residence.
On the village square in front of Kokořín Chateau stands a Baroque sculptural group of Saint Nicholas of Tolentino from 1700. Kokořín Chateau is not open to the public, but remains a distinctive landmark of the village square and an interesting destination when exploring the Kokořín Valley.
