Kotenčice: Hotels and Accommodation

A chapel stands in the village square in the center of Kotenčice. The present chapel was consecrated on October 19, 1941, after the older chapel had been demolished for safety reasons. Inside, it is decorated with a triptych depicting Our Lady of Perpetual Help, flanked by depictions of Saint Wenceslas and Saint Ludmila.

Below Náveský rybník lies Prostřední mlýn Mill in Kotenčice, 200 m south of the Kotenčice chapel. Milling there probably ended as early as the 18th century. The first written mention of Kotenčice dates back to 1382; at that time, the Buková estate administered the fields.

The original agricultural character of Kotenčice changed in the 1950s. Today, a smaller proportion of the inhabitants work in agriculture. Local events include the burning of witches and Children's Day. There is also an entertainment program for the pilgrimage, as well as social gatherings for the church fair.
