The most important landmark in Počepice is the Church of St John the Baptist with its cemetery.
Culture and history
The Church of St John the Baptist dates back to the first half of the 14th century. In 1790, it was rebuilt from the Gothic style into the Baroque style.
The rectory in Počepice was built in 1775 by Ferdinand von Lobkowicz. The Chapel of Our Lady of Perpetual Help is located in the rectory at Počepice 29; it was blessed on 9 September 2017.
On Road 105, approximately 1.3 km from the centre of Počepice in the direction of Vysoký Chlumec, there is the U svatých statue group with statues of Saint Procopius and Saint John of Nepomuk. The older Statue of St Prokop at U svatých dates from the second quarter of the 18th century; the Statue of St John Nepomuk at U svatých was created after the middle of the 18th century.
The film Farářův konec starring Vlastimil Brodský was filmed in Počepice.
Cycling
The 6 km-long cycle route 8144 connects Veselíčko, Počepice and Skoupý and links cycle routes 8139 and 8143. It runs from Veselíčko via Skuhrov and Počepice and Vitín to Skoupý.
Hiking and landscape
The Sedlčanská-Robinova hiking route to Prčice passes through Počepice. A Stations of the Cross route begins near the Church of St John the Baptist in Počepice and climbs the south-eastern slope of Radešín. The stone crosses along the route are decorated with pictures painted by children from a school in Sedlčany. The Stations of the Cross route ends at Kalvárie and offers views of Počepice and the surrounding landscape.
Počepice can be reached by bus from Milevsko or Sedlčany.
