Kotopeky: Hotels and accommodations

Kotopeky combines distinctive religious buildings with preserved traces of its history. The Chapel of Saint John of Nepomuk is located in the Tihava district, on an island in the middle of a small pond. The nearly square building is constructed of stone and bricks and has been reconstructed.

Culture

At the center of Kotopeky stands the Chapel of Saint Wenceslas. It was built in 1823 in the village square; Mass is occasionally celebrated there. The Válcovna, a single-story brick building with a stone base and a hipped roof, also stands on the road from Kotopeky.

History

In the Tihava district, the former castle-site area “Na baště” has been preserved as the remains of a moat. The other moats of the fortress were probably supplied with water from this moat. Kotopeky’s historical heritage also includes a barrow cemetery with 14 mounds, some of which are uncertain.

Routes and transport

A cycle path and a field path run along the eastern side of Kotopeky; drainage ditches are also located there. PID bus route 641, operated by ARRIVA STŘEDNÍ ČECHY s.r.o., serves the Kotopeky and Kotopeky, Tihava, u mostu stops. The timetable is valid from July 24, 2026.
