Kounov: Hotels and Accommodation
The Kounovské kamenné řady on Rovina consist of fourteen regular rows of boulders weighing up to several tonnes. They lie on a forested upland at the boundary between the Louny and Rakovník districts, at an elevation of 526 metres.
Nature and Trails
The Kounovské kamenné řady educational trail has existed since 1987, has eleven stops and is 4.3 kilometres long. The Špičák educational trail route also begins at the exhibition on the Kounovské kamenné řady in Kounov.
About 1.5 kilometres north of Kounov, the Chapel of St. Adalbert stands beside a marked hiking trail from Kounov to the Kounovské kamenné řady. There is a covered rest area with benches and tables by the chapel.
Culture
The Kounovské kamenné řady on Rovina were discovered in 1934 by the local teacher Antonín Patejdl. The exhibition on the stone rows displays rare documents, including the first published article about the stone rows from 1934, the oldest known photograph of the rows from 1936, and drawings of their archaeological investigation from the 1970s.
The Church of St. Vitus in Kounov has a probably Romanesque nave, joined by a Gothic chancel dating from around 1400. The Chapel of St. Adalbert near Kounov is an important pilgrimage site at the transition between Rakovnicko, Žatecko and Lounsko.
The Svatovojtěšská pouť in Kounov takes place every year on the first Sunday after 23 April, the feast day of Saint Adalbert. Trissolepis kounoviensis is considered the best-known representative of the Palaeozoic fauna of Kounov and was discovered by Antonín Frič in the 1870s.

The ruins of Pravda and the Pískový vrch hill [Kounov] are located in the immediate vicinity of Kounov. The Džbán and Loustín mountains are also located around Kounov; the Church of U Svatého Gotharda is situated there as well.
