Svatý Jan: Hotels and Accommodation
Svatý Jan is home to the Church of Saint John of Nepomuk, which was built from 1760 to 1764 on the site of an earlier chapel. The listed building is a spacious Baroque structure with a unique mansard roof and a shape resembling a burning heart.
Culture and History
On the grounds of the Jewish cemetery in Radobyl, there is a building with a stone tahara slab used for the ritual purification of the dead. Above Jedlí and Skrýšov lies a pilgrimage spring that formerly attracted processions and individual visitors who prayed there for good health.
Trails and Places
The 18 km hiking trail “Ke Svatému Janu” leads from Krásná Hora through Svatý Jan, Brzina, Kunclův mlýn, Drážkov and Hojšín. On the way to Svatý Jan, the trail crosses the Brzina stream via a footbridge. At Brzina, the Kunclův Mill has a waterwheel that powers a sawmill and generates electricity for the mill.
In Drážkov, the Váchův Špejchar Museum presents an exhibition about the difficult lives of people in the middle Vltava region. Individual visits and excursions for groups of four or more can be arranged by telephone. The restored Špejchar in Drážkov serves as a gallery. The fourth edition of the JÓGOVÝ FESTIVAL was announced at Hogo Fogo in Drážkov.
