Měňany: Hotels and Accommodation
Měňany is located in the Český kras Protected Landscape Area. The Stříbrný potok stream flows through the cadastral area; the Kobyla Nature Reserve also extends across the cadastral areas of Suchomasty, Měňany and Koněprusy.
Nature
The Kobyla Nature Reserve contains a former quarry with an outcrop of the Očkovský Overthrust, visible karst formations, and caves of paleontological and archaeological importance. The nature reserve is also part of the Zlatý kůň geological educational trail.
Water and Landscape
At the Měňanská vyvěračka spring, water gradually enters the stream bed along a 250 m stretch between the spring pool and the Koněprusy–Měňany road. The Měňanská vyvěračka can be reached on foot via a footpath.
Above Měňany, the pedunculate oak Dub u měňanského mlýna grows on the dam of a pond near a former mill. It was designated a memorial tree in 1986. The pedunculate oak is 260 years old, has a trunk circumference of 395 cm, and is 22 m tall; the measurement dates from 2009.
Culture and Traditions
The chapel with a bell tower in Měňany is a local cultural monument dating from 1836. Traditional Easter rattling (Velikonoční řehtání) takes place in Měňany.
The stone cross in Měňany is an immovable cultural monument. The Chapel of St. Wenceslas (sv. Václava) in Tobolka, within the municipality of Měňany, is also an immovable cultural monument.
