Pustověty lies on the edge of the Křivoklátsko Protected Landscape Area and amid the Křivoklátské forests. The village is situated in a deeply incised, gorge-like valley of the Rakovnický potok; the picturesque Pustovětské údolí is one of Pustověty’s landscape features.

Nature and Trails

Several cycling and hiking trails pass through Pustověty. A red-marked KČT hiking route runs through Pustověty, as does the “Scent of Smoke and Conifers” educational trail.

Culture and History

The former Water Mill No. 7 stands in the centre of the village. The Pustověty water mill was probably originally late Baroque and was rebuilt in the Classical style; a substantial part of its historic technical equipment has been preserved in the mill room. Pustověty is also home to a Baroque statue of Saint John of Nepomuk dating from 1723, created by M. B. Braun.

The historic centre preserves a group of large farmsteads and agricultural homesteads on a raised spur above a meander of the Rakovnický potok. The memorial to the fallen was erected in the 1920s and is a prominent feature of the village green.

On Site

Pustověty has the Pustověty railway stop on the single-track, non-electrified line No. 174 between Beroun and Rakovník. The multi-purpose sports field is available to local residents and visitors from elsewhere. It has goals for small-sided football, volleyball and tennis posts with nets, as well as a basketball facility.
