Rynholec: Hotels and accommodations
Rynholec lies on the northern edge of the Křivoklátské lesy. Between protected landscape features, preserved historic structures, and paths through the town and countryside, the place reveals clear natural and cultural-historical characteristics.
Nature and landscape
The protected individual tree Lípa v Rynholci, which is under statutory protection, is located in the cadastral area of Rynholec. Its estimated age is given as 220 years (as of December 1, 2009). Its crown height was documented as 19 m (as of December 1, 2009), and its tree height as 20 m (as of January 16, 2020).
The registered significant landscape feature VKP Stráňky Rynholec comprises xerothermic grasslands and meadows. Also registered is the significant landscape feature VKP Remíz u trati: a structured valley along the railway line in a mining-shaped landscape near Rynholec. On the western and southwestern edges of Rynholec’s built-up area, the surrounding agricultural landscape is also very well preserved.
Culture and townscape
The Chapel of St. Isidore is a small plastered masonry building with a rectangular floor plan and a slate-covered gabled roof. At the southern edge of the Rynholec municipal area, the historic Rynholecký dvůr has been preserved and successfully revitalized.
In the northern and southeastern parts of Rynholec’s historic center, regular buildings with houses and agricultural farmsteads arranged with their gables facing the street have been preserved. They are grouped around a distinctly elongated rectangular village green.
About 2 km south of Rynholec, on a wooded hill called Starý zámek, only a hill with a relatively extensive medieval fortification of rectangular plan measuring 70 × 100 m remains of Sobín. The massive ramparts are visible on three sides, while the ditches are now mostly filled in.
Paths and access
The Sobín site is freely accessible from the western side across the adjacent field. The marked educational trail is approximately 10 kilometers long and leads along field and forest roads as well as paths through the town and countryside.
