Culture and History

The core of the Church of the Holy Spirit (“Kostel sv. Ducha”) dates back to the first half of the 14th century, as indicated by a bricked-up Gothic portal in the northern wall of the nave. The owner of Trnová, Františka Terezie Minetti, née Fritschmannová z Ehrenkronu, had Kostel sv. Ducha restored in 1720. The gravestone of the restorer of Kostel sv. Ducha remains preserved in the floor of the nave to this day.

The building of Chateau Trnová was declared a national cultural monument by the Ministry of Culture of the Czech Republic in 1994.

Leisure and Horse Riding

Jezdecký Areál Trnová has indoor riding arenas measuring 20 × 50 m and 25 × 65 m, as well as a round arena with a diameter of 18 m. The facility rents out school ponies and horses for rides in the vicinity of Cukrák and in the Brdy forests, as well as for riding lessons up to the ZZVJ riding licence examination. The area around the facility is suitable for leisurely rides through the woods, forests, and meadows of the Vltava landscape.

The “Dětské hřiště” children’s leisure area in Trnová is intended for children aged 3 to 14.

Nature and Cycling Trails

As part of the revitalisation of the pod krčmou biotope completed in 2021, the adjacent pond was also repaired and cleaned.

A cycling trip leads through the village of Trnová and then onto the Mníšecko-Č cycling route. The municipality maintains a page titled “Cyklotrasy Mníšecko” with a section called “Cyklotrasy Trnová”.

Getting There

Bus route 318 runs from the Prague stops Praha–Lihovar or Smíchovské nádraží to the stops “Trnová – Domov Borová” and “Trnová”.
