Velký Osek: Hotels and Accommodation

The Osečka mineral spring was discovered in 1935. It is freely accessible in a small park on Husovo náměstí and was completely renovated in 2025–2026.

Nature

Velký Osek has a České dráhy railway station on the Praha–Kolín–Hradec Králové line. From Velký Osek railway station, a yellow-marked hiking trail follows a paved path to the red Libice nad Cidlinou–Kolín hiking trail; both trails run through the Libický luh or through part of the reserve. The Libický luh National Nature Reserve was established in the Kolín District with effect from 1 May 1985 and in the Nymburk District with effect from 1 June 1985. The marked trails through Libický luh are suitable for cycling. The cycling tour through Libický luh and Veltrubský luh can be combined with a train journey.

Culture

The Calvary group stands in front of the Catholic church in Velký Osek and is made of red sandstone. The construction of the Catholic church was made possible and begun in 1934. Its interior furnishings were taken from a deconsecrated church in Bohnice. The Catholic church was solemnly consecrated on June 20.
