In Býchory, František Horský had a new manor house built next to Veith Castle in 1865, naming it Horskýsfeld.

Culture

The New Horskýsfeld Castle in Býchory is registered under number 15554/2–3120 in the central list of immovable cultural monuments of the Czech Republic. The Homole hillfort is also listed there, under number 19830/2–3421. A Middle Bronze Age grave and early medieval pottery have been documented at the hillfort.

Apart from occasional religious ceremonies, the Church of St. Bartholomew is used for cultural events, concerts, weddings, and funeral ceremonies; regular services are not held there.

Nature

Mokřadní prameniště u Býchor is an extensive wetland with a complex of artificially created spring hollows surrounding the source of the Potok od Jelena stream. There are two ponds along its main course. Nine protected animal species have been recorded in the protected landscape feature Mokřadní prameniště u Býchor.

Geographical Location

Homole Hill can be reached from Býchory via a yellow-marked hiking trail to the Homole–hájovna trail junction, and then via an unmarked forest path.

Hořánck Mountain is located in the vicinity of Býchory. Nearby are Zámek Kačina Castle, Na Kroužku Hill [Němčice u Kolína], and Na Kuklách Hill [Ovčáry u Kolína]. In the wider regional surroundings of Býchory are Kamenec Mountain and the Church of Svatý Jiří.
