Chlumec nad Cidlinou: Hotels and Accommodations

The Deanery Church of St. Ursula on Klicperovo náměstí was built under the rule of the Pernštejn family from 1536 to 1543 in the Late Gothic and early Renaissance styles. It is the only surviving building from the Pernštejn period in the Pocidliní region.

Culture and History

The Loreta Museum is located in a former pilgrimage site that later served as a hospital and poorhouse. The building was reconstructed into its present form in 2001 and has served as a municipal museum since 2002. The exhibition covers Chlumec nad Cidlinou and the surrounding area, focuses primarily on the modern era, and also includes a smaller section on archaeological finds from prehistory and the Middle Ages, as well as the remains of the former water castle.

Karlova Koruna was built from 1721 to 1723 with the involvement of the architect Jan Blažej Santini-Aichel and the builder František Maxmilián Kaňka. A traditional guided tour there offers insights into the history of one of the most important noble families; a new interior exhibition is dedicated to horses and parforce hunting.

The “Město v zahradách” educational trail leads visitors through Chlumec nad Cidlinou and presents significant buildings and architectural monuments.

Nature and Surroundings

The Pamětník natural monument protects wet meadows and wetlands in former and partially flooded sand pits, small forests on gravel, and thermophilic meadow communities with rare plant, insect, and bird species.

Mount Kamenec is located in the surroundings of Chlumec nad Cidlinou. The hill (Amerika) [Chlumec nad Cidlinou] lies in the immediate vicinity of Chlumec nad Cidlinou. In the wider regional area are Zámek Kačina Chateau, Hořánck Mountain, U Borku Mountain [Záhornice u Městce Králové], and the Church of St. George.

Klicperův Chlumec is an annual amateur theater festival organized with the support of the Hradec Králové Region and the city of Chlumec nad Cidlinou.
