Jinolice: Hotels and Accommodation

The pond landscape of the Jinolické rybníky, protected wetlands, and several memorial sites commemorating the Battle of Jičín on 29 June 1866 give Jinolice a clearly recognizable profile.

Nature and Water

The Rybník Vražda pond is designated as a protected natural monument. The protected area around the pond preserves wet meadows with rare plants and animals.

Oborská luka, also called Oborská louka, is a protected wetland above Oborský pond, the largest of the three Jinolické rybníky ponds.

Camping is possible at the Jinolické rybníky; in addition, the Jinolické rybníky offer pleasant swimming opportunities as well as opportunities for leisure activities.

Trails and Landscape

Jinolice railway station is located on the Turnov–Jičín line. A green-marked hiking trail leads from the railway station via the Jinolické rybníky to the Prachovské skály and is approximately 3.5 km long.

The Brada castle site can be reached via the blue-marked hiking trail in the direction of Jičín–Prachovské skály. The early Gothic Brada Castle once stood on the wooded ridge above the Jinolické rybníky.

History and Memorial Sites

The former mill at house no. 37 is one of the local historic wooden houses and is listed as a local cultural heritage site of Jinolice. The mill dates from the early 19th century.

In Jinolice, a masonry bell tower stands beneath a linden tree on the village green by the municipal office.

On road I/35 between Jičín and Turnov, an iron monument to those who fell in the Battle of Jičín on 29 June 1866 stands in Jinolice. A helmet is mounted above its ornamented cornice.

The war grave in the center of Jinolice commemorates 12 Austrian soldiers, 24 Prussian soldiers, and one officer who fell in the Battle of Jičín on 29 June 1866.

Another war grave at Rybník Vražda pond in the Malá Jinolice district commemorates 92 soldiers who fell near Malá and Velká Jinolice on 29 June 1866.

Jinolice has an educational trail called “Bitva u Jičína 29. června 1866”.
