Libun: Hotels and accommodations

In the center of Libuň stands the Fara, a Baroque building from the 18th century opposite St Martin’s Church.

Culture

St Martin’s Church was built as a single-nave Gothic church in the 14th century and given a Baroque makeover in 1771. In front of its façade, by the enclosing wall and standing on a three-step pedestal, is a Baroque statue of Saint John of Nepomuk dating from 1746. The church also contains a statue of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary from the mid-16th century.

The Jesuit Burnatius Column is a four-metre-high Baroque Tuscan sandstone column dating from 1689. It incorporates a chapel with relief decoration and commemorates the death of the missionary Matěj Burnatia in 1629.

The Fara houses a memorial room for P. Ant. Marek, as well as a small gallery with paintings and writings by F. Kaván.

Nature

The Libunecké rašeliniště natural monument extends into the cadastral area of Libuň. It comprises wet meadows along the natural course of the Javorka, where protected plant and animal species can be found.

Getting around

The “On foot from Rovensko via Tábor Mountain” hiking route ends in Libuň. Seasonal tourist bus route 391 connects Turnov with Jičín through the most attractive part of Český ráj and is one of the most important seasonal connections to the Hruboskalsko and Prachovské skály areas. During the season, it operates as a bike bus with limited capacity for transporting bicycles.
