Podhorni Ujezd A Vojice: Hotels and Accommodation

Podhorní Újezd a Vojice are closely associated with the region's sandstone: sandstone quarrying began here around the middle of the 17th century. Sandstone and half-timbered houses in Podhorní Újezd a Vojice represent the region's folk architecture.

Culture

The Jan Hus monument in Vojice was made in 1897 from stone taken from the local quarries. Vojice was the birthplace of the sculptor Ladislav Jan Kofránek, who came from an old stonemason's family.

The sculptural group of Saint John of Nepomuk in Vojice dates from 1747 and was donated by Valdice Monastery. It stands on the main road towards Hradec Králové–Jičín, at the turn-off to Vojice. In the wider regional surroundings of Podhorní Újezd a Vojice lies the church of Lázně.

In the upper part of the settlement of Podhorní Újezd, by the road behind house no. 70, there is a column monument with a sculptural group of Saint Anne, Saint Wenceslas, Saint John the Baptist and two angels within a stone enclosure. In Podhorní Újezd, the fruit-tree educational trail has a rest area with an information board about fruit growing.

Pyrám is an old stone signpost at a crossroads of paths towards Hradec Králové–Jičín and Sobčice–Vojice. There is a train stop in Vojice.
