Osek: Hotels and Accommodation

The Church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary in Osek was built in the first half of the 14th century as an originally Gothic church oriented towards the east.

Culture

The church was remodelled in the Baroque style in the third quarter of the 18th century; a ribbed vault has been preserved in the presbytery. Its interior furnishings are Rococo and date from the second half of the 18th century.

Osek is also home to a wooden hexagonal bell tower, which was built in 1601 on the site of an earlier structure. Its distinctive supporting structure consists of the beam supporting the bell frame being braced by wooden struts inclined diagonally upwards. The tower has an open section around the bell, tapers towards the top and offers the opportunity to look out over the landscape. The stone cemetery wall is listed as a cultural monument.
