Slatiny: Hotels and Accommodation

The landmark of Slatiny is the Rococo Church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary. It was built between 1761 and 1763.

Landscape and Location

Slatiny is situated in a flat, highly productive agricultural landscape on the edge of the Jičín Uplands. The village lies about 10 kilometres south of Jičín in the direction of Nový Bydžov and on the Jičín–Nový Bydžov bus route. The name Slatiny is derived from the marshy soil found throughout the area.

History and Culture

Slatiny contains an area with documented archaeological finds. In Milíčeves, which has belonged to Slatiny since 1960, the château was built between 1677 and 1678 by the Jesuits from Jičín on the site of a fortress. The former mill site of Slatinský, Adamcův mlýn in Slatiny, is freely accessible.

The surroundings of Slatiny include Mount Maxinec (MLázovický chlum) and Mount Přivýšina. Valdštejn Church and the mountains Střelečská hůra and Tábor are located in the wider regional surroundings of Slatiny.
