A forest belt of Kamenná hůra stretches along the village from west to south and slopes down toward the Bělohrad Basin. The Kamenná hůra Nature Reserve lies on the southwestern slope of the Kulatý vrch, which forms part of a ridge descending from Bukovina u Pecky toward the Javorka Valley near Dolní Javoří.

Hiking and Cycling Routes

A blue-marked hiking trail passes through Bukovina u Pecky. The trail runs through Kamenná hůra along the historic Horská cesta. In addition, cycling route no. 4141 leads from Arnoštov (from Borovnice) through Bukovina u Pecky and continues via Tetín to Vidonice.

Bukovina u Pecky lies approximately 1,500 m from Krkonošská vyhlídka; the route follows a field track along a blue-marked hiking trail. In the vicinity of Bukovina u Pecky is the 532 m-high Krkonošská vyhlídka, which can be reached from Pecka via a blue-marked trail as a 5-km circular route.

History and Culture

A statue of Saint John of Nepomuk, erected in 1734, stands in the village square of Bukovina u Pecky. Near Hrádek, between Vřesník and Bukovina u Pecky, a ditch carved into the rock and preserved to this day marks a former circular fortified settlement.

The historic Horská cesta through Bukovina u Pecky is associated with the departure from Pecka Castle on February 23, 1621, of the arrested Kryštof Harant z Polžic a Bezdružic, accompanied by mercenaries. Bukovina u Pecky is mentioned in written records as early as the late 13th century. The father of the teacher and writer K. V. Rais was born in Bukovina u Pecky and spent his childhood there in house no. 12.
