Parezska Lhota: Hotels and Accommodations

Pařezská Lhota lies north of the Prachov Rocks in a hilly landscape near the ruins of Pařez Castle. These are situated on an isolated sandstone formation at the northwestern edge of the Prachov Rocks; access was through a rock fissure. The surviving castle complex includes masonry fortification walls, a square tower, a palace, and chambers carved into the rock.

Landscape

The Prachov Rocks are a nature reserve within the Český ráj Protected Landscape Area; the cadastral territory of Pařezská Lhota is also part of it. The geological profile of the Prachov Rocks can be clearly observed in the Císařská chodba.

Culture and History

The archaeological site of the fortified hilltop settlement of Prachov also includes the cadastral territory of Pařezská Lhota. Prehistoric burial sites, as well as ramparts and burial mounds, have been documented there.

Activities

The Pařezská Lhota climbing area lies in the forest on the right-hand side of the road from Pařezská Lhota to Střeleč. Climbing in the Pařezská Lhota area is seasonally permitted from April 1 to October 31; exceptions apply to individual rocks.

The Jičín–Trosky cycling route passes through Pařezská Lhota. The Leknínová cycling route also passes through Pařezská Lhota and leads to the water-lily ponds there.

From April 30 to September 30, a tourist bicycle bus can be used on the route Jičín – Holín – Prachov Rocks – Pařezská Lhota – Mladějov – Sobotka – Podkost. At the “Holín, Pařezská Lhota, penzion” stop, it is possible to transfer between the two lines.
