The entire cadastral territory of Soběraz lies within the Český ráj UNESCO Geopark, on its eastern edge. The first written mention of Soběraz dates from 1362 and is found in the court register of the town of Jičín.

Historical Landmarks

The Chapel of Saints Peter and Paul was built in 1717 by the Carthusians from Valdice. In the western part of Soběraz stands rural house No. 35. It is an example of woodcarving and folk architecture from the late 18th century. Rural house No. 39 in Soběraz is a protected cultural monument.

A statue of the Virgin Mary in Soběraz dates from 1870. The monument in Soběraz commemorates the Hussite past and those who fell in the First World War and stands in front of the local cemetery. A monument in Soběraz was unveiled in 1922.

Routes and Regional Connections

Soběraz can be reached most quickly via a turnoff from the Jičín–Lomnice nad Popelkou road between Valdice and Železnice. The educational trail “In the Footsteps of the 1866 War in the Hořice Region” includes Soběraz as one of the participating municipalities. A blue-marked hiking trail also runs through the cadastral territory of Soběraz.
