Mezimestí: Hotels and Accommodation

In Meziměstí, the AQA LAND complex offers visitors opportunities for relaxation, swimming, sports and rest. A valid day ticket or personalised season pass is required for entry to AQA LAND.

Nature

The marked Okolo Meziměstí circular trail is 15.7 km long and moderately difficult. It starts in the town square on red- and blue-marked trails and crosses a railway crossing. The Vyhlídková hřebenovka po Javořích horách ridge trail also starts at Meziměstí railway station; it is a challenging hike from Meziměstí via Vižňov to the ridge of the Javoří hory.

Ruprechtický Špičák is located within Meziměstí. It is 880 m high, has an observation tower and is the highest point in the Náchodsko region.

Culture

The Baroque Church of St Anne in Vižňov, a district of Meziměstí, belongs to the so-called Broumov group of churches and has been protected as a national cultural monument since 1 July 2022. The Po stopách rodiny Walzelů educational trail has also been established in Vižňov. The present-day Křížová cesta Vlasty Hampla features cast-iron panels from the late 19th century mounted on wooden stands.

The Walzel Centre is located in the building of the former textile factory of Josef Walzel and Sons in Meziměstí; the former textile factory was transformed into the multifunctional commercial and entertainment centre Centrum Walzel.

History

Meziměstí railway station is a historically significant technical monument. The ČD Meziměstí station building on line 026 was built in 1875 in connection with the construction of the Choceň–Meziměstí–state border and Meziměstí–Broumov–state border railway lines near Otovice. The Meziměstí Railway Museum introduces visitors to the history and circumstances surrounding the construction of the Choceň–Meziměstí railway line.
