The appearance of Vlkov is shaped to a significant extent by its original, tasteful rural architecture. A characteristic element of the village square’s architecture is the “Vlkov Gates”.
Villagescape and Culture
The war memorial in Vlkov dates from 1929 and bears the names of 18 victims of the First World War and two victims of the Second World War.
In the meadows north of Vlkov stands a monolithic sandstone cross known as a reconciliation cross. After it was discovered in 1993, it was re-erected about 50 metres from its original location.
The polygonal barn is the last surviving polygonal barn in the Hradec region and is occasionally accessible.
A military triangulation pylon stands in a field south of Vlkov, near the road to Hradec Králové. The Vlkov Pylon is part of the Josefovská triangulation network from 1874 and one of a total of three remaining points in this network.

The “V Lužinách” pond near the edge of Vlkov is suitable for walks and nature observation.
The Elbe had a significant influence on the living and economic conditions in its surroundings.
The eastern side of Vlkov offers a view of the Orlické Mountains. To the north, the view from Vlkov is roughly bounded by the famous panorama of the Krkonoše Mountains.

Hospůdka Pod Lipami in Vlkov is a visitor-oriented pub offering three types of beer, homemade lemonades and coffee. The simple dishes include pizza, pickled Hermelín cheese, pickled sausage, sausage and rollmops. Hospůdka Pod Lipami has an outdoor seating area in summer.
