An old military cemetery dating from 1820–1840 is an immovable cultural monument in Rasošky.

Culture and History

The Pyramida monument is located in the military cemetery in Rasošky. It commemorates the fallen members of the 21st Infantry Regiment in the wars of 1848–1849 and 1866. The Pevnostní hřbitov is located north of Rasošky.

Rasošky began to develop in 1781 on the site of the Rossošky forest. The name “Rossošky” already appears in church records from 1546. The origins of the settlement are connected with the construction of Josefov Fortress, which was then called Ples. The village was founded around a rectangular village green.

Tradition

The Masopust procession is a tradition that is gaining importance in Rasošky every year.

Routes and Connections

The 1866 educational trail runs through Rasošky and connects the village with Josefov, among other places. Cycle Route 4266 leads from Jaroměř to Rasošky and continues from Rasošky to Smržov.
