Spa and Park
Velichovky Spa Park is freely accessible for walks. The Schörnerova vila is located in the spa park; in spring 1945, the command of the German Army Group Centre was operated from there. On 8 May 1945, the text of the capitulation of the Third Reich arrived at the villa.
Masarykův dům is the main building of the spa complex and also the only immovable cultural monument in the spa complex.
Culture and History
The Church of the Transfiguration of the Lord (Kostel Proměnění Páně) was founded by Hanibal von Valdštejn in 1616 and is a single-nave Renaissance building. The protected area comprises the church, the mortuary, the perimeter wall and the access staircase.
The “Stezka historií obce Velichovky” history trail begins at the municipal office and connects 16 historic sites. The trail features wooden panels displaying historical photographs, some of which are more than 100 years old. The MISE Velichovky event also includes a commemorative drive featuring historic vehicles from the Second World War era.
Nature
The “Naučná lesní stezka” forest educational trail begins behind Brána lásky. It includes interactive elements about trees and animals, as well as a newly built pavilion for resting.
