Church and Architectural Heritage

A stone sacrament house has been preserved in the church in Božanov; it was subsequently incorporated into the façade of the church’s Early Baroque tower. Construction of the present Church of St. Mary Magdalene began in 1709 and was completed in 1743. The complex also includes a Late Gothic entrance gate to the cemetery dating from the 15th century.

The former agricultural farm complex at Božanov No. 247/248 is considered a typical, relatively well-preserved Broumov farmstead from the mid-19th century.

Landscape

The yellow-marked detour from Pánův kříž leads to the Božanovský Špičák labyrinth with picturesque sandstone formations. From the U Koruny trail junction, a marked one-kilometre detour leads to the viewpoint on Koruna; from there, the view extends over Božanov and part of the Broumov Basin.

Trails and Border

The hiking route from Božanov to Hvězda leads from the centre of Božanov to Hvězda and is classified as moderately difficult. The cycling tour “Za krásami broumovských statků a k radkovské přehradě” begins in the centre of Božanov. Božanov also has a tourist border crossing on a hiking trail.

Surroundings

Velká kupa and Signal are mountains in the immediate vicinity of Božanov. The surrounding area also includes the Ścinawka Górna - Renesansowy dwór and Zamek Homole castles, as well as the Skalniak and Ptak mountains. Muchołapka is a monument in the vicinity of Božanov. Zamek Rogowiec is a castle in the wider regional surroundings of Božanov.
