Horní Marsov: Hotels and Accommodation

The Church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary in Horní Maršov is a neo-Gothic church. The Starý kostel, also known as the Upper Church or Cemetery Church, is the oldest stone monument in the eastern Krkonoše Mountains. It provides a venue for concerts; a guided tour with a local guide can be booked for the Starý kostel.

Culture and History

In the Horní Alberice district of Horní Maršov, Horní Alberice is home to the Muzeum Vápenka, which presents a modern exhibition about seven centuries of life in the Albeřice Valley and the shared history of the Krkonoše Mountains. A service is held annually in the Chapel of St. Anne on the Sunday before the feast day of Saint Anne, 26 July. The Stations of the Cross leading to the Chapel of St. Anne are lined with images by contemporary Czech artist Aleš Lamr and begin at the Veselý výlet information centre in Temný Důl. Hrádek Aichelburg is a reconstructed castle complex on a rocky promontory high above Temný Důl.

Nature

The Rýchory Ridge includes the Dvorský (primeval) forest, which extends at an altitude of 1,000 m and is known for its diverse forest stands.

The Rýchory educational trail is most easily reached via the yellow-marked hiking trail from Horní Maršov. The Infokoloniál DOTEK in Horní Maršov provides tourist information about transport connections and recommended routes.
