Suchovrsice: Hotels and accommodations

Suchovršice lies in a narrow valley on both banks of the Úpa River. Fields and forests stretch across the slopes and elevations surrounding the village.

Culture and history

In the village center, the wooden bell tower from 1730 stands on the slope. The municipality restored it in 1923: the wooden structure was reinforced, new cladding was installed, and shingles were added, while preserving its historic character. The bell tower rings regularly at noon and in the evening.

A covered wooden half-timbered bridge in Suchovršice is a technical monument dating from 1922. The wooden footbridge in Suchovršice dates from 1935.

At the “Zlatá jáma” site, traces are still preserved that are associated with the allegedly first gold mine in Central Europe. Stříbrný důl is the only currently accessible evidence of medieval mining in the region; an application has been submitted for its inclusion in the central register of immovable cultural monuments.

Getting around

A blue-marked section of cycle route 4090 runs through Suchovršice. The village can be crossed by bicycle. An educational trail leads from the footbridge near Lhotách to Zlatá jáma.
