Velké Svatoňovice: Hotels and accommodations

In the center of Velké Svatoňovice, opposite the pond, stands a memorial to the victims of the First and Second World Wars. This local historical connection is complemented by a chapel, a fire service museum, and several listed buildings.

Culture and history

The Hasičské muzeum can be visited by prior telephone appointment. It presents historic firefighting equipment; the exhibition covers its development in the Czech lands from approximately the mid-19th century to the second half of the 20th century.

The Chapel of St. Wenceslas, the martyr, is located in the Velké Svatoňovice district. It was built in 1903 and last reconstructed in 2003.

The Schreiber homestead No. 238 was built in 1634 and has been a listed monument since April 22, 1964. The partially timber-framed barn near house No. 239 dates from the 18th century and has been a listed monument since September 30, 1998.

Nature and bodies of water

Rybník Aman pond is located in the central part of Velké Svatoňovice on the Markoušovický stream, also called Zaječí stream. The pond is used for fishing; swimming is at your own risk.

Geographical setting

The mountains of Čáp, Jański Wierch, Starozámecký vrch, and Martwiec lie in the wider regional surroundings of Velké Svatoňovice. The castles of Zamek Rogowiec, Opactwo Cysterskie w Krzeszowie Monastery, Schloss Kreppelhof, and the ruins of Zamek Schwarzwaldau are also located in this wider regional area.
