Culture and History

The ruins of Neuberg Castle are located 3.5 km north-northeast of Aš, on a rock above the left bank of the Ašský potok. Neuberg Castle was built around the beginning of the 13th century.

Only the front section of the wall and the windows have survived from the Upper Castle. The original feeding troughs have been preserved in the former stable of the Upper Castle. After a major fire in 1610, the castle in Podhradí no longer served as the main centre of the Zedwitz family's rule in the Asch region.

The Church of the Good Shepherd is a protected cultural monument. The altar in the Church of the Good Shepherd, created by M. Zeitler, dates from 1710.

In the wider regional surroundings of Podhradí are the Erika Fuchs House Museum for Comic and Language Art, a museum, as well as Waldstein, a ruin, and the town park, a park. Bad Brambach, St. Michaelis is a church in the vicinity of Podhradí.
