Nature and trails

The competition map for the Čapí naučná stezka is available at Chotovická hospůdka u Lázní from Wednesday to Sunday starting at 2 p.m. The Skalická cycling route also passes through Chotovice.

The “Z Nového Boru do Sloupu” hiking route passes through Chotovice and extends as far as there; it offers insights into the preserved traditional folk architecture of the Lusatian region.

Culture and local history

The Chapel of the Visitation of the Virgin Mary is a listed building in Chotovice and was built in 1776. It was entered on the heritage register in 1965.

The spa in Chotovice operated until 1945. It used an iron-rich water spring and peat extracted near Červený rybník (Red Pond) by Pihel.

Two glass-grinding mills were in operation in the Chotovice cadastral area on the Chotovický potok at the end of the 19th century. Chotovice is also associated with Dr. Franz Hantschel, a physician and local historian who is considered the town’s most famous son to date.

The Myslivecké letnice event is scheduled to take place on August 28, 2026, from 2 p.m. at Chotovická hospůdka and in the adjacent Franze Hantschel Forest Park.
