Trails

Cycle Route No. 211 runs through Horní Libchava and connects Kytlice, Dubá, Stružnice, Horní Libchava and Vojtěchov. The Varhany Cycle Route connects Česká Lípa, Horní Libchava and Kamenický Šenov and follows the former railway track of a railway line.

A blue-marked hiking trail runs along the northeastern edge of Horní Libchava, leading from Česká Lípa via Manušice, Slunečná and Kamenický Šenov to Nový Bor. A yellow hiking and cycling route runs through Horní Libchava and connects Česká Lípa, Dolní Libchava, Horní Libchava, Manušice, Skalice u České Lípy and Nový Bor.

Nature

The Manušické rybníky Nature Monument includes areas in the cadastral territory of Horní Libchava. It protects wetland and aquatic biotopes and the species associated with them, particularly a population of fire-bellied toads (Bombina bombina).

Landscape

The former Ralsko military area is now a recreational area in the vicinity of Horní Libchava. The Lusatian Mountains stretch north of Horní Libchava, while the northern part of the Bohemian Uplands begins to the west. The area around Lake Mácha lies nearby to the southeast.

History and Architectural Heritage

The Renaissance château in Horní Libchava dates from 1574 to 1593. The vanished Klinštejn castle complex dates from the 14th century; no above-ground masonry has survived. Visible remains at the site include an outer defensive moat and rampart.

The cemetery in Horní Libchava was established in 1904 on the site of the former cemetery that surrounded the Church of St. James the Greater in the village centre. The representative Rectory of the Knights of Malta in Horní Libchava features the traditional floor plan of a broad Baroque house.
