Bozkov is one of the oldest pilgrimage sites in Bohemia and Moravia.

Sacred Sites and Local History

The Sejkorská Chapel in Bozkov became a pilgrimage site. When approaching from Semily, it is the first Bozkov landmark. A commemorative plaque on house number 100 in Bozkov recalls the birthplace of the priest, writer, and Czech National Revival figure Josef Alois Kouble.

The U Matičky Chapel was built in 1900 at a site where a spring had flowed since time immemorial and was believed to have healing powers. A statue of the Virgin Mary was moved there from the abandoned cemetery chapel. The Church of the Visitation of the Virgin Mary in Bozkov was built in 1693; its foundation stone was laid and consecrated on 23 September 1690. Its tower is 49 metres high and open to the public.

Culture

In the valley of the Vošmenda stream, natural beauty combines with examples of folk architecture, including a former mill and residential buildings that have preserved their original character. Dřevěnka was added to the list of cultural monuments in 2011.

Nature and Landscape

Masarykova vyhlídka offers views of Kozákov, Bozkov, and part of the Krkonoše Mountains.

The Bozkovské dolomitové jeskyně caves were declared a national nature monument in 1999 and are open to the public as part of guided tours. The largest underground lake in the Czech Republic is located in the Jezerní dóm chamber.

Trails

The Palackého stezka trail is 20.5 kilometres long and leads from Tanvald to Podspálov. From the Palackého stezka, visitors can reach the Bozkovské dolomitové jeskyně caves via a blue-marked branch, then continue to Bozkov and return to the Palackého stezka via a green-marked route.

Marked hiking trails lead from Bozkov to Semily, Vysoké nad Jizerou, Bohuňovsko, and Jesenný. Cycle route 1074 from Semily to Vysoké nad Jizerou passes through Bozkov.
