History and Culture
Martinice railway station dates back to 1871 and is now a cultural monument. The stone wayside shrine monument in the Martinice cemetery is also part of the local cultural heritage: it was declared a cultural monument in 1998 and subsequently restored.
Educational Trails and Landscape
The Nádraží Martinice educational trail is 1.5 kilometers long and has nine stations. It is marked in yellow and belongs to the official hiking trails of the Club of Czech Tourists.
At seven stations along the U Mlejna forest educational trail, visitors can learn more about the development of the forest, forest management, and the importance of water in the landscape. The trail begins near the wooden Martinický Mill and runs along the Slané bahno and Na bubně ponds.
Rail Connections
The Pojizerský Pacifik railway line runs from Martinice v Krkonoších to Rokytnice nad Jizerou and is a convenient way to take trips into the mountains. Martinice railway station is the highest-elevation station on the line between Trutnov and Chlumec and on the regional line to Rokytnice nad Jizerou.
