The dominant landmark of Oborná is the Church of the Most Holy Trinity.

History and townscape

Oborná was first mentioned in 1405. The historical names Spillenberg and Spillendorf originally meant a watchtower and a guard post, respectively.

Open spaces and activities

The Skalka natural area is used by all generations for active and passive recreation. Oborná regularly holds Children's Day celebrations in the area. There is also a floodlit multi-purpose sports field for netball, badminton, volleyball and ball games.

The Skalka area includes a music stage, four shelters, an in-ground trampoline, a Russian skittles game and a maze, as well as benches, tables, litter bins, a bicycle rack and an information board.

Festivals and traditions

Putting up the municipality's maypole is a long-standing tradition in Oborná. The Dožinky harvest festival is also part of social life in Oborná. A St. Nicholas celebration involving devil figures is another local tradition.

Landscape and trails

Oborná is located in the Nízký Jeseník mountain region. A local cycle route runs through Oborná, while a green-marked hiking trail passes through the southern part of the village. Extensive forests stretch north and east of Oborná.

In the surrounding area, a green hiking trail leads via Bruntál to the 672 m-high Uhlířský vrch. The path to this summit is lined by a centuries-old avenue of lime trees. A small church stands at the summit, which is surrounded by the protected area of the Uhlířský vrch natural monument.
