Ryžoviště: Hotels and accommodations

The Ryžoviště–Břidličná educational trail begins behind the primary school in Ryžoviště and leads to the 682-meter-high Výšina Hill. From there, the view stretches far across the surrounding area. Six information panels provide information about gold panning in Ryžoviště.

Culture

In Ryžoviště, there is a Baroque stone statue of the Virgin Mary with the Child Jesus dating from 1733, created by the sculptor J. G. A. Heinz. Two putti figures form part of the design of its pedestal.

The Church of St. John the Baptist is believed to be of medieval origin and is documented by a reference to a parish from the mid-16th century. It is a single-nave masonry church with a Renaissance core and a building remodeled in the Baroque style in 1758. It is a prominent visual landmark in the surrounding area.

History

The Lafayette House is a single-story Empire-style building and a former courthouse dating from the late 18th century. The French General Lafayette was detained there in Ryžoviště in 1792. The building is privately owned and is not open to the public.
