Velká Stáhle: Hotels and Accommodation

Velká Štáhle lies on both banks of the Moravice, immediately beyond its confluence with the Podolský potok. The Rýmařov–Valšov railway line runs through the village.

Culture and History

The Church of the Most Holy Trinity was built in the late Gothic style between 1576 and 1606 by Jan Kobylka z Kobylí. Its tower offers extensive views of the surrounding area.

The Božího těla Chapel dates from 1927. It houses the original Baroque sandstone statue of Saint John of Nepomuk. Two black marble plaques on the chapel list the names of 32 victims of the war of 1914–1918.

The historic DDP 22 threshing machine was manufactured by ED. LÖHNERT & SOHN in Velká Štáhle between 1929 and 1939. In the centre of Velká Štáhle, it is displayed on the grounds of the kindergarten next to a bicycle rest area with seating.

Nature and Trails

The Moravice Valley is designated as a European Natura 2000 site of Community importance.

Route 6142 can be extended via Břidličná towards the Slezská Harta Reservoir. From Velká Štáhle, cyclists can reach Malá Štáhle via a field path along the right bank of the Moravice.

The educational trail near Malá Štáhle leads through the remains of mining operations, with ponds, quarries and gorges, and includes a shared inline skating, cycling and walking route.

The local path to a cross and a bell tower passes the church building along a field path; at a junction, turn right.

Transport and Local Information

The municipal tourist accommodation U školky is located 100 metres from the railway stop on the Rýmařov–Valšov line and 400 metres from a bus stop.
