Krásná: Hotels and accommodation

Krásná is located in a landscape whose special connection to the Beskids is immediately apparent: Most of the cadastral area of Krásná lies within the Beskydy Protected Landscape Area. The summit of Lysá hora is also part of the geographical surroundings of the village and lies on the boundary of the municipalities of Krásná, Malenovice, Ostravice and Staré Hamry.

Nature and landscape

The mountains of Kyčera, Kykulka, Travný and Malchor are located in the immediate surroundings of Krásná. Near the Visalaje resort there is also the Obidová natural monument, featuring valuable Beskid peat meadows (Sihlen). It lies in a flat depression below the ridge, in the headwaters of the Sihelský stream.

Visalaje and Lysá hora

Visalaje is a mountain settlement in the Zadní hory mountains of the Moravian-Silesian Beskids. It lies at an altitude of 800 m and on the watershed of the Morávka and Mohelnice rivers; administratively, the settlement belongs to Krásná.

A road leads from Krásná to the bare summit of Lysá hora. A distinctive telecommunications transmitter, a meteorological station and several mountain huts stand there.

Hiking, cycling and winter sports

Visalaje has numerous hiking and cycling trails. In winter, there are cross-country ski tracks as well as a ski resort with numerous lifts and slopes.

There are also several ski slopes and lifts in Zlatník. In the southern part, towards Vyšní Mohelnice, lies the Ski Zlatník-Fela ski resort.

Another marked route is the “Krásný výlet Krásnou” circular trail. It is 11 km long and starts and ends at the Krásná–Zlatník car park.

History

The origins of Krásná are associated with the Wallachian colonisation of the Beskids.
