With its southwestern cadastral area, Smilovice U Třince extends into the Beskydy Protected Landscape Area (CHKO Beskydy). Within the municipality, the Beskydy Site of Community Importance under European protection (EVL Beskydy, CZ0724089) covers the same 222.1 hectares as the Beskydy Protected Landscape Area (CHKO Beskydy).

Sportcentrum Smilovice has two grass pitches, tennis courts and a multipurpose hall. Bikecentrum Smilovice includes a natural pump track. The construction of a jump line and a skill zone in the grounds of Sportcentrum Smilovice is planned for Bikecentrum Smilovice.
Cycle Route No. 56 runs from Smilovice to Bukovec. In addition, the marked blue route from Střítež railway station towards Guty forms the initial section of the traditional Mánesova Trail.

Culture and History
Karmel is a spiritual and educational centre in Smilovice. Services are held at the Karmel Centre in Smilovice at 9:00 a.m. on the fourth Sunday of every month; a gathering is held at Karmel in Smilovice at 3:00 p.m.
House No. 77 in Smilovice is considered the birthplace of Jerzy Buzek and bears a commemorative plaque. The Smilovice war memorial is a war grave without bodily remains relating to events of the First World War.
