Vělopolí: Hotels and Accommodation

Vělopolí is located in Podbeskydí, in a hilly foothill landscape. The village combines this landscape with a long history, rural architectural heritage and designated cycling routes.

Nature

The Vělopolka stream, a tributary of the Ropičanka, flows through Vělopolí. Small farmsteads remain part of the agricultural character of the foothills. Vělopolí is also home to a protected lime tree believed to be 400 years old. The higher parts of Vělopolí offer views of the Moravian-Silesian Beskids. The surroundings of Vělopolí invite visitors to go for walks and hikes.

Cycling and Location

Local cycle route No. 6089 between Ropice and Komorní Lhotka is designated in Vělopolí. Long-distance cycle route No. 56 passes through Vělopolí and runs between Smilovice-Střítež and Těrlicko-Horní Bludovice. Vělopolí lies away from the main transport routes.

History and Culture

The first written mention of the Vělopolí estate dates back to 1448. Rural farm complex No. 7 dates from 1887. A group of Empire-style sculptures in Vělopolí probably dates from the second quarter of the 19th century. The Empire sculpture group originally formed part of the furnishings of the chateau park in Hnojník.

Community Life

The Vělopolské slavnosti took place for a second time and have become a regular part of the life of the municipality and local associations.
