Heřmanice u Oder is one of the historically oldest settlement areas in the Odersko region. The first written mention of the village dates back to 1374.
Culture
On the village square in Véska stands the Goethův kámen next to a memorial beech tree dedicated to Pope John Paul II in 2011. In Heřmanice u Oder, the Chapel of Saint John of Nepomuk is accompanied by a cross dating from 1882.
Véska is also home to the Chapel of Saint Hubert, a listed Neoclassical chapel from the early 19th century. Traditional hunting masses are held at this chapel in autumn. A monument with a memorial plaque in the Véska cemetery commemorates those who fell in the First World War.
Festivals
The traditional Gulášfest of SDH Véska combines a firefighting competition, goulash tasting, a children's programme, refreshments and evening entertainment.

The Heřmanickem na kole cycling route leads through Heřmanice u Oder and Véska, with stops along the way. Another notable site is Mořské oko: this is a former farmers' stone quarry filled with water, which the municipality of Heřmanice u Oder has cleaned and restored. There is a rest area for cyclists and an information board.
