Kujavy: Hotels and Accommodations

The “Kujavská stezka poznání” is a 4 km educational trail with a walking time of approximately 60 minutes. Together with other landscape and cultural features, it showcases various facets of Kujavy.

Nature

The landscape includes the “Alej svobody´23”, a symbolic group of trees consisting of 97 pear trees and 28 oak trees. The Děrenský stream forms the axis of the municipality of Kujavy near the Poodří Protected Landscape Area. The Kujavy plant herbarium records nearly all plant species that can be seen here.

Culture and History

The present-day Church of Saint Michael was completed in the autumn of 1833 in the Empire style. It has been a cultural monument since 3 May 1958. The earliest written mention of Kujavy dates back to 1293. The primary school building is also part of the local history: it was built in 1821 and has served as a school since its construction.

The 37 km cycling tour “K Bíloveckému větrnému mlýnu” leads to Kujavy as its fourth stop, where it visits this church; Kujavy is listed as the fourth stop in the tour description.

Memorial Sites

The war victims’ memorial bears the inscription “SEDMNÁCT RUDOARMĚJCŮ” and lists four names: Josef Beneš, Petr Liščinka, Alexandr Malý and Václav Kikal. It stands at the intersection of the Fulnek–Bílovec road and the municipal road toward Hladké Životice and Pustějov. The area around the memorial is maintained and planted with flowers.

A stone cross was restored with a new base and ceremonially consecrated in 2005. A stone cross stands on the boundary between Kujavy and Stachovice, next to a solitary chestnut tree.
