Budišov Nad Budišovkou: Hotels and Accommodation

The Muzeum břidlice in Budišov nad Budišovkou is located in a former mill dating from the first half of the 18th century, which is now one of the listed heritage buildings. The museum documents the more than 700-year history of Budišov nad Budišovkou and focuses on the formation, processing and use of slate, which is characteristic of the region. It also displays unique wooden mining carts. In the small splitting workshop, visitors can try splitting a slate heart; the educational trail Naučná břidlicová stezka, which documents the region's mines, begins next to the Muzeum břidlice.

History

Kamenný most is a two-arched Baroque stone bridge made of rubble stone, with a fully masonry bridge railing, and was built in 1773. On the railing above the central pier stands a sandstone sculpture of Saint John of Nepomuk, erected at a later date, from 1725. In the vicinity of Budišov nad Budišovkou, the first reliable written reference to the Vildštejn castle ruins dates from 1316.

The Budišovka River flows through Budišov nad Budišovkou. From Rozhledna Halaška, there are views of the Jeseníky Mountains, the Beskids, the Oderské vrchy, the Kružberk Reservoir, Červená hora near Libavá and the White Carpathians. Rozhledna Halaška can be reached on foot, as no road for cars leads to it.

The nearby forest park in Budišov contains an 18-hole disc golf course with competition-standard parameters. Those interested can borrow discs for the disc golf course at the Autokemp or the Středisko volného času; playing is free of charge.
