Háj Ve Slezsku: Hotels and Accommodation

The Smolkov Fortress stands on Padařov Hill. It was built between 1936 and 1938 as part of the fortification belt. It consists of five underground structures connected to one another; an educational trail runs around them.

Culture and Architectural History

The Church of St. Valentine was declared a cultural monument in May 2015. It has preserved the artistic character of the building constructed in 1911.

The neo-Gothic Chapel of the Virgin Mary was built by local settlers in 1877 and now serves as a gallery.

The Vladislav Vančura Memorial was erected in 1972 on the main road in the western part of Háj ve Slezsku. The original bust at the memorial, a work by sculptor Karel Vašut, was stolen in 2002 and replaced with a copy.

Memorial Sites

The Memorial to Silesian Scouting was built from 1971 onwards in response to the ban on the Junák movement. Two benches stand beside the Mohyla slezských skautů, where visitors can rest after the climb.

Landscape

Ostrá hůrka (315 m above sea level) is a hill belonging to Chabičov and an important site of the Silesian National Revival. Ostrá hůrka has a north-facing viewpoint overlooking Háj ve Slezsku and other municipalities in Silesia.
