Hlásnice: Hotels and Accommodation
Hlásnice lies at the foot of the Nízký Jeseník, while the Sovinecko Nature Park encompasses almost the entire area of the municipality. Nature and local history are closely intertwined here: above Hlásnice lies the “Dančák” natural pond on elevated ground at an altitude of approximately 400 m. From there, views extend across the surrounding landscape, particularly southwards into the Morava Valley and towards Olomouc. The site around the natural pond is used for daily short-term recreation.
Nature and Trails
Hlásnice has numerous paths and trails for walks in the surrounding countryside. A blue-marked hiking route also runs along the edge of the cadastral area in a northwest–southeast direction. It begins at Mladějovice railway station and leads via Řídeč, Vysoká Roudná, Dubová hora and Chabičov, passing Hlásnice on its way via Dolní Žleb to Šternberk.
A cycling route also passes through Hlásnice: “Do hlubin věků” follows a circular route through Šternberk, Babice, Mladějovice, Komárov, Řídeč, Mutkov and Chabičov before returning to Šternberk. The route runs along paved roads and unpaved forest paths.
History and Chapel
The first written mention of Hlásnice dates from 1371. The name of the municipality is also connected with an early duty of its inhabitants: above Šternberk, they kept watch and reported when strangers were approaching. The medieval and modern-era centre of Hlásnice is an area with documented archaeological finds or a well-founded presumed occurrence of archaeological finds.
The walls of the Chapel of St. George bear memorial plaques with the names of the victims of the First and Second World Wars. Masses are regularly held in the chapel from spring to autumn. The regular events in Hlásnice also include the St. George Pilgrimage in Hlásnice.
Local Life and Events
Hlásnice has a children’s playground with suitable play equipment for younger and older children. It is supplemented by fitness equipment for teenagers and adults. The surface of the multi-purpose sports court was renovated in 2018.
The Jarní běh Hlásničák spring run is held regularly in Hlásnice. In summer, a Kubb tournament is also among the municipality’s recurring events.
Geographical Location
Hlásnice lies mainly along the II/445 Šternberk–Huzová–Rýmařov road. This road connects the municipality with Šternberk.
