The present appearance of the mill in Hradčany is the result of its reconstruction after a devastating fire in 1922.

History and Culture

Hradčany is first mentioned in a document issued by King Vladislaus I in 1160. Hradisko Monastery near Olomouc owned Hradčany until the monastery was dissolved in 1784.

The Chapel of Saint Francis Xavier is located in Hradčany. Major General Antonín Špaček was born in Hradčany on 23 May 1917. A commemorative plaque is located on his birthplace at Hradčany No. 87.

Cycling

Cycle route No. 5040 runs through Hradčany-Kobeřice along road III/4335. A 66 km cycling tour leads through Hradčany-Kobeřice between Dobromilice and Brodek u Prostějova.

The flooded quarry is located near the paved road between Hradčany and Kobeřice. It is used as a natural swimming area and as a fishing spot by the local organization of the Fishing Association in Němčice nad Hanou.
