Culture and history

The château in Hustopeče nad Bečvou is a four-winged building with an arcaded courtyard. The Church of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross is a single-nave Late Gothic-Renaissance building dating from 1597 to 1611. It is surrounded by a wall with 14 rare Baroque statues of saints and has a wooden pulpit from the mid-18th century.

The burial chapel of the Baillou family was built from 1885 to 1887 according to a design by Zachariáš Hermann from Hranice and is protected as a cultural monument. The former windmill in Poruba is also an immovable cultural monument; it was built in 1853.

Regional culture

The Music and Film Museum of the Hranicko region in Hustopeče nad Bečvou has collected distinctive items from the region’s musical history and present-day music scene. Digitized historical film footage can be played at the museum.
