Culture and Local History
Grymov was founded in 1787 through the subdivision of the former Radslavice estate; 24 farmsteads were established as a result. In the garden by the municipal barn stands the Hranečník dating from 1768, which is registered as an immovable cultural monument in the Central Register of Immovable Cultural Monuments.
The Chapel of Saint John the Baptist was built in Grymov between 1860 and 1863, replacing a bell tower on the village square. It is a cultural monument in Grymov; a statue of Marie Hostýnská stands in front of the chapel. The Easter customs of Velikonoční klepání and Pomlázka, also known as Tatarování, have been preserved in Grymov.
Paths and Landscape
After the 1880 flood destroyed the old crossing near Vrbovec, a bridge was built in 1881.
The cycle path near Grymov is connected to Cycle Route No. 6035 between Nad Hubertem, Lhota, Pavlovice u Přerova and Radslavice. It forms part of the Cyklostezka Bečva cycle path and the Kraków–Moravia–Vienna Greenway cycle route.
The cycle path along the Bečva is suitable for walking, running, cycling and inline skating. The country lanes in Grymov are lined with rows of trees and well-maintained greenery.
Sports and Running Events
The sports complex along the Bečva has a tennis court. Children can also take part in Grymovská desítka on shorter distances. Grymovská desítka is a spring run on paved country lanes; the course was extended to 10 kilometres in 2011.
Grymovská podkova is an 8.2-kilometre cross-country run. The course runs mainly over unpaved terrain, along the edge of a field, across a racecourse and along country lanes. Participants in Grymovská podkova can run a 4-kilometre course; children have a short circuit.
Public Transport
Bus services in Grymov are provided as part of public transport in the Olomoucký kraj region; on weekdays, services run approximately every two hours.
