Culture and History

Plumlov Castle is a registered cultural monument of the Czech Republic under registration number 37405/7–5689. The remains of the former Plumlov Castle preserved in today’s castle courtyard include a rocky hill, limited sections of walls, cellars, a vaulted castle well, and the remains of a cylindrical keep.

The first tour route at Plumlov Castle includes the castle and museum exhibition, as well as exhibitions and a guided tour with commentary through the first to third floors of the castle. The Plumlov Tourist Information Centre also features a permanent exhibition on the history of the castle, château, and town of Plumlov.

Hiking and Cycling

The Okolo Obory loop is a 5 km hiking route with a walking time of approximately 1.5 hours. It can be started at the Žralok Auto Camping site or at the main outlet structure of the Podhradský Pond, 100 metres away.

The Okolo Obory loop follows a red-marked hiking trail around the pond in the direction of the neighbouring village of Soběsuky. The Okolo přehrady loop can also be completed in the opposite direction by bicycle. It leads from the outlet structure of the Podhradský Pond towards Mostkovice, along the route between the reservoir and the wooded Zlechovský vrch, then across the dam and back over the dam of the Podhradský Pond.

Water

There are beaches on both banks of the Plumlov Reservoir. There is a watercraft rental service at the grassy beach on the southern bank of the Plumlov Reservoir.
