Turovice: Hotels and accommodations

Turovice is documented in written records as early as 1131. The village lies on a prehistoric route through the Moštěnka Valley, which led from Haná via Záhoří to Hostýn.

Culture and History

Finds from the Early Neolithic and the Bronze Age have been made in Turovice. A fortress once stood at the site known as “Zámčiska”.

The Baroque chapel in Turovice dates from 1707 and features a statue of Saint Starosta. The cult of Saint Starosta was introduced to Turovice by Capuchins; statues of this saint are rare in the Czech Republic.

The Turovický slivkošt is a traditional event. During the carnival season, the tradition of Vodění medvěda, or leading the bear, is observed annually in Turovice.

Nature and Landscape

The Moštěnka stream flows through Turovice. The Kamenice Nature Monument is located in the vicinity of Turovice and was designated to protect the vegetation. It covers 2.95 hectares. Forty-four bird species have been recorded in the Kamenice Nature Monument, including several species listed in the Red Book of Threatened and Rare Species.
